Introduction

As Groomers we know only too well how difficult it is to find a reputable company you can trust to look after your scissors and blades. They are the main tools of your trade and it's important that they receive the correct sharpening.

Here at Crossland Grooming Supplies we give your scissors and blades the care and attention they need and deserve.

Scissors

Scissors we receive will have the following work carried out on them:

Strip down, inspection and clean;
Angle Setting and adjustment;
re-sharpen and polish;
Convexing (as required);
Rebuilding with new parts (as required);
Balancing and adjustment;
Setting and testing.

Sharpening can either lengthen or shorten the life of scissors. An incorrect sharpening such as applying a bevelled edge on a convex blade, removing an excess amount of metal or overheating and burning tips can reduce the life of your scissors, even ruining them.

We are Crossland Grooming Supplies use a Scimech scissor Flathone machine for sharpening scissors and not a grinding machine.

This machine has been specifically designed to remove the minimum amount of metal, this resulting in a perfectly sharpened pair of scissors.

Blades

Blades will have the following worked carried out on them:

Strip-down, inspection and clean;
Re-sharpen;
Re-building, new parts fitted (as required);
Setting and adjustment.

At Crossland Grooming Supplies, we use a Scimech II Clipper Hone for sharpening blades which is a true hollow ground blade sharpener.

It is important to have the correct equipment to carry out the job of scissor and blade sharpening and crucially important to have the correct training.

From the menu on the left, select "Sharpening" and then choose whether you would like to have Scissors / Thinners sharpened or a blade sharpened.

Add the product to your cart and then proceed to the checkout to make your purchase.

When posting Scissors and Blades, please do the following:

Wrap and protect your scissors and blades;
Include your name, address and telephone number (and your order number) so we can identify you.

Once we have received your order we will sharpen your scissors / thinners / blades and post them back to you.
